Description
Comprehensive Cytokine & Immune Activation Panel
Panel CYT 3 is designed to evaluate a broad range of inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, immune signalling proteins, and immune-regulatory markers associated with immune activation, chronic inflammation, and cytokine balance.
This extensive panel measures key biomarkers involved in both innate and adaptive immune responses, helping to provide insight into inflammatory pathways, immune regulation, cellular signalling, and immune system activity. It may be useful in advanced functional, integrative, and specialist clinical investigations where immune dysregulation or chronic inflammatory activation is being explored.
Important Note: Laboratory results must be interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional alongside symptoms, medical history, and other clinical investigations.
Biomarkers Include:
Inflammatory Cytokines & Immune Signalling
IL-1 beta (IL-1β) – A major pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in immune activation and inflammatory responses.
IL-6 – A central inflammatory cytokine associated with systemic inflammation and immune regulation.
TNF-α (Tumour Necrosis Factor-Alpha) – A key inflammatory mediator involved in cytokine cascades and immune activation.
IFN-γ (Interferon-Gamma) – Supports antiviral defence and cellular immune responses.
IL-12 p70 – Promotes Th1 immune responses and cellular immunity.
GM-CSF – A growth factor involved in white blood cell production and immune cell activation.
Immune Regulation & Anti-Inflammatory Balance
IL-10 – An anti-inflammatory cytokine that helps regulate excessive immune responses.
IL-1ra (Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist) – Helps counterbalance IL-1–driven inflammation.
PD-L1 (Programmed Death-Ligand 1) – An immune checkpoint protein involved in immune regulation and immune tolerance.
Th1 / Th2 / Th17 Immune Pathways
IL-2 – Supports T-cell growth and immune coordination.
IL-4 – Associated with allergic and Th2-mediated immune responses.
IL-5 – Involved in eosinophil activation and allergic inflammation.
IL-13 – Linked to allergic inflammation and airway immune responses.
IL-17 / IL-17A – A pro-inflammatory cytokine associated with chronic inflammation and autoimmune pathways.
IL-17E (IL-25) – Involved in Th2 immune signalling and inflammatory responses.
IL-33 – Activates inflammatory and mast-cell-related immune pathways.
Chemokines & Cellular Recruitment Markers
RANTES (CCL5) – A chemokine involved in immune cell recruitment and chronic inflammatory signalling.
IP-10 (CXCL10) – Attracts activated immune cells and is associated with antiviral and inflammatory responses.
MIP-1 alpha (CCL3) – A chemokine involved in immune cell migration and inflammatory activation.
MIP-1 beta (CCL4) – Supports recruitment and activation of immune cells during inflammation.
IL-8 (CXCL8) – A chemoattractant involved in neutrophil signalling and inflammatory responses.
CD40 Ligand (CD40L) – An immune signalling protein involved in platelet activation, inflammation, and immune communication.
Cellular Immune Activity
Granzyme B – An enzyme released by cytotoxic immune cells involved in targeted immune defence and cellular cytotoxicity.
The test panel is carried out in Germany by Magdeburg Molecular Diagnostics (MMD). The shipping/courier cost (added at checkout) includes the DHL Medical Express packaging and paperwork for customs.
