Mitochondrial Fuel Pathways

This assay determines dependence, capacity, and flexibility of cells to burn (oxidize) one of the three fuels for energy production using the mitochondria: glucose, glutamine, or fatty acids.

NOTE: This test must be ordered alongside the MHI (M2 or M3), Ratio of mtDNA to nDNA (M4), + Mitochondrial 4977 deletion mutant (mt4977del) (M9), or combination (M10)

 

The tests are carried out in Germany by Magdeburg Molecular Diagnostics (MMD). The shipping/courier cost of £50 (added at checkout) includes the DHL Medical Express packaging and paperwork for customs.

Sample type

This test requires a blood draw.
The lab requires 3x CPDA samples to carry out this test as it must be ordered alongside the MHI, Ratio of mtDNA to nDNA, and Mitochondrial 4977 deletion mutant (mt4977del).
Viability

CPDA samples must be shipped immediately.
The stability of the blood is approximately 72 hours.
