Description

Anti-DNase B is an antibody that targets the enzyme deoxyribonuclease B (DNase B), produced primarily by certain bacteria, especially Group A Streptococcus.

This test is used to assess the amount of Anti-DNase B antibodies present in the blood.

This test is often ordered alongside Streptolysin O Antibody (ASO). Anti-DNase B antibodies typically remain elevated longer than ASO and may remain elevated for several months after infection.

This test requires a blood draw.
The lab requires 1x serum (orange lid) sample for this test.

1x serum sample is usually sufficient for multiple tests requiring Serum.
Viability
