The IgG subclass assay quantifies serum concentrations of IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4. Each subclass plays a specific role in immune defense against different types of pathogens. Abnormal subclass levels can help identify immune system imbalances, recurrent infections, allergies, or certain autoimmune conditions.
