Description
Borrelia miyamotoi is a species of bacteria that causes a type of relapsing fever and is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks, the same ticks that spread Lyme disease. It was first identified in Japan in 1995 and named after the scientist Kenji Miyamoto. Since then, it has been found in several parts of North America, Europe, and Asia.
